Our Kelulut Honey is produced by stingless bees, also known as kelulut bees or Trigona Itama or Genothrica. These bees are native to Southeast Asia, and they produce honey that is distinct from the honey produced by the more common honeybees.
Kelulut honey is known for its therapeutic properties, as it contains high levels of antioxidants, antibacterial agents, and other beneficial compounds. It is also rich in vitamins, minerals, and enzymes, making it a popular health food.
Our honey is collected from the hives of kelulut bees that are kept in natural forests and orchards and it is consumed to boost the immune system, improving digestion, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall health and well-being. The honey is also often applied on the skin as it contains amino acid/ vitamin C which helps to brighten the skin.
Our pure kelulut honey is harvested in Terengganu in the area where it is quiet and surrounded by trees. The bees roams free to feed from nectars around the entrance towards a small jungle where you could walk thorough acacia and gelam trees.
Recently awarded gold in Paris International Honey Awards, the honey is recognised for its beautiful taste and a quality product. Kelulut bees has been the choice of locals to create beekeeping communities because Trigona are stingless bees, and it does not need care as it is independently look for blooms on its own in the area where their pods are.
We have gathered information for our honey harvest and you can read and watch our videos here.
Our kelulut was chosen by Chef of Project Aliquot in his dessert project. Chef Aliquot is also a nutritionist, and he is all about good food but with flavours. Check out how he used Kelulut honey in his presentation dish.
